Connection

The Connection tab gives you access to basic features of Amazing Dialer . Use items in this tab to connect to the Internet, to customize the existing accounts or create a new one.

Pressing the Connect/HangUp button starts dialing the selected phone number to connect to your ISP or aborts the established connection.

The Add button can be used to create a new connection. Press this button to bring up the standard Windows Create New Dial-up Connection (New Call) wizard. Refer to your Windows manual for details on how to create a new connection.

The Edit button is used to edit the selected item's properties. If a phone number is selected, pressing this button brings up a window in which you can modify the phone number, its description and set the time of the day when this number is functioning.

Select the ISP name and press the Edit button to bring up the connection properties window.

Pressing the Delete button deletes the selected connection.

The Details section contains the detailed information about the current connection:

- Status - the current connection status
- Attempts - the number of attempts to dial the number
- Last event - the last system event
- Connection speed - the speed (in bauds) you are connected at
- CPS - the real data transfer speed at a particular moment
- Bytes received - the incoming traffic of the current session
- Bytes sent - the outgoing traffic of the current session
- IP - your current IP address
- Time online - the current connection duration

Connection Properties

The Connection properties section contains all data necessary to access your Internet account. Enter your username, password and domain in the corresponding fields. If your ISP does not require the domain information, leave this field empty. If you do not want to enter your password each time you are connecting to the Internet, mark the

Save password checkbox to save this information.

The drop-down menu in the right part of the section is used to select the dialing mode supported by your phone company. Most companies now support the tone dialing, but if the company that serves your district has older communication equipment installed, you may need to select the pulse dialing to be used.

Pressing the Edit Connection button brings up the standard Windows Connection Properties dialog. Refer to your Windows manual for details on how to handle it.

The box in the central part of the window contains your ISP's phone numbers. Use the buttons on the right to add, edit and delete them, and the arrow buttons to move the phone numbers up and down to set the order they will be dialed.

Use the Connection Rates section to monitor your Internet expenses. The Cost/Hour fields contain the rate your ISP charges per hour of connection. If the rate depends on the time of the day, you can set separate day and night prices (use the spin controls to specify the time periods the price is valid), as well as the special price for weekends.

Marking the Unlimited checkbox disables all pricing information.

The Currency field by default contains the symbol(s) denoting your national currency (the information is retrieved from the Windows settings). You can change this information manually at any time.
