Plugins

Amazing Dialer supports the plugin modules that can be used to extend the program's functionality. The distribution package includes four plugins: Clock Synchronizer, Finger, Host-IP Resolver and WhoIs. More can be downloaded from the Amazing Dialer website.

The Plugins tab contains the list of plugins and the buttons to control and customize them. Use the Run, Stop and Delete buttons to manage the plugins. The At connect button lets you specify which plugins will be run each time when the connection is established. The Refresh button loads the list of plugins available on the Amazing Dialer website (you must be online to be able to perform this operation). Press the Info button to view the description of the selected plugin and the Download button to download it on your machine.

The Clock Synchronizer plugin can be used to synchronize you system time with the highest precision atomic clock servers. Amazing Dialer contains the built-in list of over 50 clock servers and you can select those that can be easier accessed with your provider.

Press the Setup button and select up to five servers using the drop-down boxes. You can also mark the corresponding checkbox to enable the display of the error messages that will appear if Amazing Dialer for some reason fails to connect to a certain clock server (this can be useful for you to find the most reliable servers). If you chose to run this plugin every time the connection is established (use the At connect button to do this), you can mark the Don't show at startup checkbox to enable the plugin function in the hidden mode.
When you press the Run button the Clock Synchronizer working window appears. It displays the connection information, the time on a particular server and the suggested time adjustment for your system. You can apply this adjustment by pressing the Correct button.

The Finger plugin lets you learn about a specific user of a certain server. Please keep in mind that not all servers support this function.
When you run this plugin, it prompts you to enter the server WWW or IP address and the user name of a person you want to find. Pressing the Send button sends the request to the server. If the attempt is successful, the information is displayed in the text field in the lower part of the window.

The Host-IP Resolver plugin can be used to find out the IP address of a particular WWW site, or vice versa - the domain name associated with a certain IP address. Just enter the known information into the corresponding field (Get the IP address for a given Host Name if you know the WWW address and need the IP, and Get the Host Name for a given IP address if you want to find out the domain name for a known IP), and press the button next to the input field. The result of your query will be displayed in the Result field.

The WhoIs plugin is used to access public information about a certain domain name. Enter the domain name (without the WWW prefix) in the Enter host name field and press the Send button. The result will be displayed in the field below. You can also select the WhoIs server to be used to process your query (most likely they will all return the same results, but you can choose the one that works faster).
